Why do Christians point to Stalin's body count as evidence that atheism leads to immorality...?

Religion is a device the power elite uses to help promote war. If there were no religion, we would still have wars. The tendency to divide into groups and define enemies is one of the unfortunate things we inherited in our evolution. I do not believe in religion or God, but understand the violence of human nature, particularly young men's tendency to engage in aggressive behavior. To blame it all on religion is naive . One needn't be religious to recognize our inherited violent tendencies
